street vendors have tried, for ages, to dodge the city's regulations and ordinaces that govern street vending. in order to sidestep the city's regulations, vendors have become incresingly creative and mobile when setting up their "shop." the ideal "shop" is one that draws the attention of the pedestrians while remaining out of view of the cops. however, the most important characteristic of a street shop is its mobility...shops must have the ability to be broken down in a matter of seconds in order to avoid confiscation of ones goods or fines by the nypd.
i snapped this shot while driving south on broadway. this is one of the best "shops" in terms of meeting the aforementioned criteria.
